Intermittent. Mostly the backends answered fine. Sometimes they didn&rsquo;t.</p> <p>A recent cluster upgrade is exactly the kind of fact that hijacks an investigation. It sits there looking like the answer, and every piece of evidence gets bent to fit it. It had nothing to do with this. It took me a while to accept that, and a couple of the dead ends below exist only because I couldn&rsquo;t let go of it.</p>
